ROAD TCS

TUBE TYPE LIGHT
Once called Race, our Tube Type Light tyres have a lightweight casing paired to a folding aramid bead. This casing type is ideal for the rider using inner tubes but demanding high-end performance from their tyres. These tyres utilize a bead shape that relies on tyre retention through proper installation and inflation of a properly sized inner tube.
SLASH GUARD (SG)
Slash Guard is a puncture protection technology featuring a nylon insert spanning the entire sidewall, from the tyre bead to the outer knob. The insert provides additional sidewall protection without adding unnecessary weight. Nylon is a highly durable material that resists slashes and gashes, making it ideal for defending the most exposed area of the tyre. Slash Guard provides an intermediate level of protection for those wanting extra sidewall durability without the weight of a dual ply casing.
FLAT GUARD (FG)
Flat Guard provides additional rubber throughout the entire casing and sidewall to deliver additional puncture protection while also ensuring it holds up to cornering on asphalt and even the occasional curb rub. Additionally, Flat Guard tyres utilize an extra layer of rubber beneath the whole width of the tread to provide even more thickness in the region where the tyres are most likely to encounter sharp, intrusive objects.

TCS TOUGH CASING
Take our proven Lightweight Casing found in TCS Light tyres and... well... double it. Yep, Tough Casing is composed of two full layers of casing, leaving no area unprotected on our TCS Tough tyres. Developed through real world testing during the Enduro World Series, this casing is designed to take punishment and has been optimized for sealant usage, retention, and consistency.
ROAD TCS CASING
The road-going sibling of our TCS Light casing. Tubeless simplicity paired with unbelievable suppleness in all the sizes you want for surfaces ranging from smooth tarmac to hardpack dirt or gravel.
URBAN ARMOR CASING
Urban Armor Casing provides additional rubber throughout the entire casing and sidewall to deliver additional puncture protection while also ensuring it holds up to cornering on asphalt and even the occasional curb rub.
DURABLE CASING
A robust and substantial casing provides the strength needed for our wire bead tyres to last. A high ratio of rubber to thread protects against trail threats and urban unpleasantries. Found in all Comp level tyres.
RACE CASING
Now called Tube Type Light, it is a lightweight casing paired to a folding aramid bead. This casing type is ideal for the rider using inner tubes but demanding high-end performance from their tyres.
PUNCTURE PROTECTION
SG2: The nylon fibers of the bead-to-bead insert have a uniquely flat profile, which reduces the amount of rubber needed to fill the gaps between fibers compared to traditional protection layers with round fibers. The increased fiber-to-rubber ratio helps to increase puncture resistance while the reduced rubber content minimizes weight and improves the liveliness of the tyre due to decreased overall casing thickness. While SG2 is primarily a puncture protection layer, its tightly woven fibers also improve air retention, which prevents seeping at the sidewall and helps maintain pressure between rides.
COMPOUNDS
TRITEC COMPOUND
Three compounds provide optimal levels of traction, support and durability. A base of high durometer rubber supports the entire tread and transitions into the knobs to prevent folding or squirming. Medium stiffness center knobs cap the base layer to provide traction and durability without sacrificing rolling efficiency, while soft compound side knobs deliver maximum grip and slow rebound for increased cornering traction.
DUAL DNA RUBBER COMPOUND
Dual DNA is the perfect mix of efficiency, traction, and durability. The centerline tread features a firmer rubber compound that boasts faster rolling and increased durability, while the side knobs are composed of softer, slower-rebounding rubber that improves control and grip.
DNA RUBBER COMPOUND
Our proprietary 60A durometer rubber compound offers the ideal mix of rolling efficiency and traction for Cross-Country and trail riding applications. DNA rubber is renowned for being versatile and long-lasting.
GRAVITY DNA RUBBER COMPOUND
The 48A durometer, glue-like conforming rubber creates uncanny traction with tuned rebound characteristics designed to take harsh hits yet not fumble for footing.
DISTANCE RUBBER COMPOUND

TCS (TUBELESS COMPATIBLE SYSTEM)
TCS (Tubeless Compatible System) is WTB's standardized tubeless rim/tire system designed to meet international ETRTO standards and ensure ultimate reliability. Pairing WTB’s legendary casings and tread compounds with a tubeless aramid bead provides increased traction and reliability of a tubeless tire, at a lower weight than any tubed alternative. Our TCS system includes tires, rims, tape, sealant and valves to provide a comprehensive package of unrivaled tubeless performance and WTB reliability.
GMS (GLOBAL MEASURING SYSTEM)
Our Global Measuring System presents precise tyre widths using two measurements, the casing width and overall width of the tread. Casing width is written first, followed by the tread width. GMS measurements are always provided in millimeters.
GMS values are determined by measuring casing and tread widths when a tyre is mounted to the specific inner rim width a tyre was designed for according to ISO standards. Different inner rim widths will provide different measurable section widths using the same tyre. Using a rim that is narrower than the inner rim width the tyre was designed around will result in a tyre section width that measures narrower than the stated width of the tyre. Conversely, using a wider rim will result in a measurable tyre section with that is wider than the stated width.
